A Case of Meconium Peritonitis Diagnosed by Prenatal Ultrasonography

Abstract
|
|
|
Meconium peritonitis is a sterile chemical peritonitis resulting from the extrusion of meconium from the fetal intestine into the peritoneal cavity during intrauterine life.
The pathophysiologic progression of the condition is demonstrated by serial ultrasonogra phic images.
We had experienced a case in which this diagnosis was made by serial ultrasonography and treated by surgical correction immediately after cesarean section termination. We presents this case with a brief review of literatures.
